Due to the unprecedented negative impact resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, Princeton Community Hospital’s Board of Directors directed the closure of the OB/GYN and Surgical Services Departments at Bluefield Regional Medical Center effective April 30, 2020.
Princeton Community Hospital will make every effort to accommodate the needs of the physicians and patients impacted by this decision.
PCH CEO Jeffrey E. Lilley said, “The volatile landscape in healthcare has never been more negatively impacted than the destruction seen from COVID-19. Efforts to mitigate long-term impacts on the overall healthcare provided in our region require immediate steps to ensure the integrity of our system.”

Temporary Visitation Restrictions

To limit the spread of COVID-19 and protect the health and well being of our patients, families and staff:

Effective March 25, 2020

We have implemented the following visitor restrictions to
further enhance our ability to keep our patients and staff safe.

NO VISITORS will be allowed with the following exceptions:

  •  Laboring mothers are allowed one (1) designated adult visitor
    during their stay.
  • Patients at or approaching “End of Life” are allowed one (1)
designated adult visitor during their stay.
  • Pediatric patients are allowed one (1) designated adult guardian
    during their stay.

For those visitors that are allowed, be prepared for the following:

  •  Visitors must have their temperatures taken at the entrance before
entry to the hospital can be granted.
  • Visitors without a fever (100 degrees Fahrenheit or below) may visit
    their loved one.
  • Visitors will need to obtain a visitor pass at the entrance screening.
  • Social distancing should be maintained at all times, including while
with the patient. If social distancing is not maintained, visitors may
    be asked to leave.

All visitors must meet screening criteria to ensure they are not ill or
experiencing symptoms when entering the facility. To help
supplement visitor needs please consider programs like FaceTime,
Skype, etc., for your loved ones.
